New Bill of Rights, and crackdown on Socialist Republic of Grunkia

NEW ROME-Today the President, Gunho Kim revealed a new bill of rights for Grunkia, finally making some kind of constitution that would make the final law for all of Grunkia without any disputes. The bill of rights declares that all “humans, dogs, cats, plush animals are citizens”. “Also, any other entity, living or non-living deemed a citizen by the Federal Republic of Grunkia will also be a citizen”. It also declares all citizens be made equal, and are free, and are entitled to the Five Freedoms listed in the Federal Republic of Grunkia.  Anyone asking to see the new bill of rights may contact the Grunkian Foreign Ministry at grunkiaforeignministry@gmail.com

Federal Republic of Grunkia government sues for peace; counter offer by Socialist rebels

SANCORAM-Today, after two battles in the Grunkian Civil War that ended in a communist victory and a Grunkian government retreat to Freedricka, the Grunkian government in exile has asking for peace, before it spreads to the neighbouring micronations. The President of the Grunkian government in exile handed to Brandon Kim, the leader of the newly declared Socialist State of Grunkia a document which was a peace treaty, which, if signed would give most of the former Federal Republic of Grunkia, and the FRG would become a rump state.

UPDATE: 7:00 PM PST- Brandon Kim made another counter offer, making the FRG a protectorate of the SSG and hand over administration of foreign affairs and military.

UPDATE: 7:46 PM PST- The Grunkian government in exile has made another peace treaty, making a coalition government with the Communist Party and the Conservative Democratic Party.

UPDATE: 8:30 PST- After much arguing, Brandon Kim decided to reject all offers for peace and decided to continue the war.

UPDATE: 9:00 PST- The Federal Republic of Grunkia has liberated the capital of New Rome and surrounding areas. A ceasefire has been declared for the night.

UPDATE: 9:20- Paul Kim, who was the youngest and lowest ranking of the Communist Party of Grunkia decided to defect to the Grunkian government side. Later, Shinseong Kim also defected, leaving Brandon Kim and John Kim left to help the Communist cause.

Grunkian response to Torgan Declaration of War

NEW ROME-The Acting President of Grunkia, Gunho Kim, has given us, the state press, a statement to the Nationalist government of Torga. “We, Grunkia, condemns and does not recognize this act of aggression by the Nationalist government of Torga. We have also already withdrawn our claims to anywhere near your invaded areas, so you are free to take it over, and we will always stand by the friendly, legitimate government in exile led by Jimmy Chen. I would also like to say, I am releasing this under the joint Grunkian-Gremmian unified government.” The Grunkian Observer will be covering any other news related to this issue.

Dissolution of the Federal Republic of Grunkia

NEW ROME – Today, March 29, 2013, the President of Grunkia announced the dissolution of the Federal Republic of Grunkia and signed the Disssolution Act, which was drafted in Grunkia’s early years as a joke, but as the number of citizens went down and there were inactivity, it became a formal unsigned act. Here are the further details.

All provinces of Grunkia will be given back to their respective macronation (namely Canada), but a bit of the province of Fairview will be given to the Republic of Aurum, which is a 2nd nation started by Gunho Kim, the ex-President, but he stated that it was not a proper micronation, but a side project. He also noted that he will not give up micronationalism.

The Grunkian language became one of the national languages of Aurum, and was not renamed.

All foreign relations ended, including alliances, diplomatic relations, and informal relations. The Grunkian Commonwealth was disestablished, including all the tiny nations inside the commonwealth with the exception of Aurum. 

All citizenships were ended, and Parliament was dissolved. The weapons of the Grunkian Defence Force were seized by the Republic of Aurum, and the government of Aurum gave the seized weapons to the Knights of Aurum, which is the army of Aurum.

The day that Grunkia was disestablished, which was on March 29, 2013, it was exactly three years and ten days after the creation of the first incarnation of Grunkia, the Federal Republic of GR.

A Fresh Start and Plans For Farming!

NEW ROME-Today, March 2, 2013 the President announced two new things, which the first one, he called a fresh new start to our government. He announced that a new constitution was being created to make some law and order, which he said was also based off of the constitution of South Korea. “I’ve always wanted to get down to creating a constitution, and now I have the time”. He also announced new Parliament elections, and dissolved Parliament. Not many are expected to run in the new Parliament elections because of the lack of citizens, which the government has been disappointed with.

However, not to let the lack of citizens to get in the way, the President also announced a new plan for kickstarting “home farming” which the title explains all. It is a plan to start making Grunkians reliant on locally grown food and save money, instead of head to “macronational shops” and buying all of their food there.

But will these two schemes work? We here at the Grunkian Observer don’t know, but we hope it will turn out well.

New Ministries Established

NEW ROME-The President of Grunkia, Gunho Kim announced today that the Grunkian government will be adding new ministries. The first one of these is the Ministry of the Grunkian Language, which will be an partial independent organization led by Robert Garside, who also developed the Grunkian language. The ministry will be in charge of leading the development and sustainment of the Grunkian language, and will most likely also take charge in creating other languages. It will also be a sub-Ministry of the Ministry of Culture, which is led by nobody, due to the lack of citizens in Grunkia. The new ministry is expected to add more improvements to the language, and will lead a project in helping other micronations create their own languages.

The next ministry that was announced was the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which will manage any affairs that arise inside the nation. Governors, dukes, and lords will be part of this ministry. It will also be in charge of the defence of the Grunkian nation against the current Communist rebellion going on, due to the disestablishment of the Ministry of Defence and the army, replacing it with a civilian militia.

The last one added was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which did not exist except on paper, which will be led by the President himself. It will be in charge of all foreign affairs, but executive control will be limited. Its plans are sending ambassadors to many allied nations, and sending a separate representative to the GUM.

Like mentioned in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs paragraph, executive control will be limited, the legislature of Grunkia, Parliament will decide mainly everything that these ministries do.

Pritasia, a new province!

NEW ROME-The Prime Minister, Gunho Kim announced today that Grunkia was going to get a new province, which is Pritasia. Pritasia is located in the Republic of Korea, next to Gongsan, another province covering half of an apple orchard. Pritasia now occupies the other half. It is unknown whether a little puppet state will be established in the Korean territories. The government announced that the governor of this new province would be Paul Kang, who is the leader of Wyhzette, and the Grunkian Prime Minister said that he would suit the job very well, because he is an ethnic Korean, and since Mr. Kang will be leading Wyhzette mainly, this large territory does not need much attention because no citizens live in or around Pritasia.

Pritasia now occupies 5.5 acres, after munching half of Gongsan off. Gongsan will also be ruled by Mr. Kang. The population count is 1 as of now. Maps and pictures will be provided in the future.

Utopia Crumbling, Grunkia Rising

NEW ROME-Today, the Governor of the state of Grunkia, which is in Utopia, declared independence from Utopia. He was “shocked” by the state of Utopia, which he stated was “inactive, crumbling, anarchy, and frequent fights”. Another statement, however implicates that he pulled Grunkia out because Harry Fitzpatrick of Monovia supposedly “abandoned” Utopia and the Wikia community. However, the harsh realities are known to the new President of Grunkia, who stated that a constitution has to be drafted, and also, a new Prime Minister would have to be elected. He also stated that he would also form a Cabinet, but has not yet confirmed. He also urged other nations inside Utopia to leave, “because there is no point in holding onto a sinking ship”.

Grunkian Commonwealth

SANCORAM- Yesterday, President Gunho Kim announced the creation of the Grunkian Commonwealth. He stated it was an organization to “unite all the protectorates, colonies, and dependencies of Grunkia”. He also jokingly referred on the MicroWikia newsfeed that smart politicians should think that Grunkia is planning to take over the world. A day after the creation, the leader of Plaktukai, Joseph Kennedy, announced the Grunko-Plaktukai Deal, which was planned on the MicroWikia chat on the day of the creation of the Grunkian Commonwealth. The Grunko-Plaktukai Deal stated that  “On January 1, 2013, the Republic of Plaktukai will dissolve  Control over all Plaktukaian lands will be handed over to Grunkia, led by Mr. Gunho Kim, a member of the Sovetnikov.  In the meantime, I will establish a new government.  When the new government is established, Mr. Kim will release all Plaktukaian lands to the new Plaktukaian    Government  A small piece of land in Bargeria will become the Republic of Grunkian Plaktukai, and will be a dependency of Grunkia ~Chancellor Joseph Kennedy”. Both the President and the Chancellor of Plaktukai signed. Later, the leader of Hasanistan requested that a small piece of Hasanistan join the Grunkian Commonwealth. The President also approved this, and the dependency of Grunkian East Hasanistan was formed. “More nations are expected to join the Grunkian Commonwealth”, said a Grunkian government official.

 

MicroWikia Scandal

MicroWikia used to be the wiki where the government of Grunkia connected with other micronationalists. But on December 8th, 2012, the wiki was apparently “spied on by Wikia staff members”, and after some posters were released to increase awareness, full-scale arguments broke out, and on Skype, the President of Grunkia talked with many other “Wikians”, the Prime Minister of Amager, and Alexander Reinhardt, Prime Minister of St. Charlie and admin on MicroWiki. Many “Wikians” began to leave, and then the wiki fell in to chaos. LurkSAR, an admin on MicroWikia was branded as a “tyrant”, and rumours spread that MicroWikia was going to be locked by Wikia. Meanwhile, a famous troll named Harsh, or commonly known in MicroWikia as “Aryavart” managed to convince some bureaucrats to make himself an admin, and demote LurkSAR. Anyone who spoke out against him, like the President of our nation was blocked for a year, (for our President it was), and others got 5000 to 10000 year bans, such as Alexander Reinhardt. But, on December 11, 2012, Aryavart was banned by admins for abusing is powers and abusing other users. But MicroWikia continues on, as some members stick on to the embattled wiki.
